Since I love both leading actors and our local reviewer gave it 5 stars, I went to see it, and I only think I stayed just to see if it would ever engage me--it didn't. It was slow and the characters in the movie were totally unlikable and weird. I love independent films, but this one is truly not for the masses. I'm sure it will get all sorts of Academy Award nominations, but I sure hope it doesn't win any.

The cast was awesome (especially Ryan Gosling--he stole the show), and the story had a great mix of warmth and humor. I loved it!!!

Don't pay any attention to the critics--this movie is an absolute hoot!!! I've waited all summer for it and wasn't disappointed. If it was French with captioning I'm sure the critics would have loved it. They just don't know how to have fun.
