Just awful

The all-one-shot scheme is uncomfortable at best, and there are moments of clear dubbing better lines over not-so-great lines.
Entirely predictable, cliched, and come the mid-end pretty darn offensive.
I want my $30 back.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I'm a huge fan of the Paranormal Activity... I guess it's become a "series". The first was an indie film and, in my opinion, pretty excellent. Hollywood got to the second one, but at least it filled some gaps and answered some questions from the first. The third... nnh.
None of it goes back to the original stories, for one. If you remember the stories Katie told, or even some of the allusions her sister made, none of it seems to matter any more. It deviates from the original plot tenfold. Also, almost none of the scenes in the trailer are in the movie, which means a totally ignorant mother character and some... really un-creepy children. I guess there was good use of a panning camera, but really all the scares were boo-scares and pretty much none connect to the demon in the other films.
SPOLIERS POTENTIALLY
The whole frickin' plot can be summed up in movie cliches. Imaginary friend isn't imaginary, telekinesis, the cult did it.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

You pretty much know how this movie's going to go when you first start watching it. A few characters have "imminent death" stamped on their foreheads. Do what my girlfriend and I did-- make a game out of it.
Now, the dialogue isn't the best, but the acting is very good. You have to keep in mind that this whole movie takes place in a cave (that's flooding), so the grand total of scenery is rock, cool rock, and cold water. I'm fairly certain they didn't CG any of the water, though, so they get points for that. As far as I could tell, the only CG was in one batch of cave-scenery that was far, far too enormous to have in any controlled setting.
The prosthetic gore is awesome. Good for a movie buff, bad for those with weak constitutions. There is a lot of death, and a lot of depressing moments, so let's try to not bring children, shall we? It's listed as "action", but I have to say this is more of a thriller/popcorn movie than adventure, although there's certainly a lot of action.
In conclusion, don't bring kids, see it in 3D, be ready for some serious mindfucks, and definitely go if you're claustrophobic (I did)
Yes, I recommend this movie.
