You can't miss with Nicolas Cage. He was outstanding. However, the apprentice was just toooo nerdy. I thought he would change somewhere in the movie, but was disappointed. It's like they tried to make a Sam from Transformers out of him, similar build, hair color and the nerdiness, but they failed miserably. The eye rolling and body twitches were irritating. The story line of the movie was really good. However, they never really showed you how he got from not knowing magic to all of a sudden being able to stop the ending of the world. Could have at least showed a progression of learning magic.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
