this is one of the first movies I've seen where the theater audience applauded when the final credits began to roll -- it was that good.
the story is enticing, yet charming and the cast is all excellent. Beautifully shot and well acted, this is one of the best films I have seen all year.

All of the 5 major actors in this movie, including the 2 kids are great....but Annette Bening was outstanding in her portrayal of a complex character. she was much, much better than I would have expected....
overall, this movie gets better as it goes along, portraying an believable, non-whitewashed version of a non-traditional family
