I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The story is great, the acting was good and the special effects were incredible. Having just recently relistened to the book I did find that I tended to see where things were missing from the book instead of simply watching the movie but I won't do that again before the second installment. IMAX was a great experience for this movie.
Well worth the time and the money. Peter Jackson has taken a long used theme, in this case wage slave Wikus, going along as if everything were as it appeared to him through the corporate lens which he has only ever seen until a freak occurrence puts him on the other side of the fence showing him the true actions of the plan he had helped spear head. Being caught up in the whole of the deception and now seeing it first hand he takes it upon himself to help those he was trying to hurt. Excellently crafted through the use of a documentary style filter at first, morphing into an over the shoulder thrill ride. Worth seeing in the theater with the big screen and incredible sound.
This movie was GREAT! It will have you laughing at some many things that you will need to see it again to catch what you missed. If you have ever been to a bachelor party, know someone that had one or even know the general idea you will love it.
Well worth the time and money, and with the usual schmutz that they release these days that says A LOT!
While some would say don't mess with the Classics, Marcus Nispel has proven that he can do just that, add a little bit of story and still scare you good. This version on 13th starts out strong, and continues through to the end. Lacks slightly in the engrossing horror aspect but that is made up for in the homage to the original with gratuitous nudity shots and updated true to life style college student antics.
A must see for fans of Jason. You'll jump, trust me!
