I have heard that this movie was nearly as good as the first movie. I disagree. This movie was actually better than the first movie. The only disappointing part was the 3D. It was completely not needed in this movie. If I hadn't wasted the extra $3 for the 3D experience, this movie would have received 5 stars instead of 4.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

There were a few plot holes, but overall, this was a fun movie.
I thought that the actors matched their roles very well. As for what weapons that each of them had when they hit the planet, they were given the exact weapons that they used in everyday life as "predators".
However, the problem that I did have was, why didn't they pick up every weapon that they came across?
