This was a phenomenal experience! The digital print of this movie was so crisp and clean it seemed like a brand new film all over again! The sound was so clear that I was hearing subtle sounds and noises that were masked in earlier prints by the music (which is still awesome 27 years later). If I had only one wish, I would like to see some new CGI to improves some of the special effects in the film (such as the demon dogs and various ghosts). Otherwise, well worth the premium price. To the creators of Ghostbusters, c'mon guys! Get off your duffs and give us a worthy GB3! It's about time you strapped on the packs for at least ONE more go round.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Disney's latest attempt to take a piece of its history and revive it for a new audience, scores big. Nicholas Cage is phenomenal as Balthazar, an ancient wizard searching for the last Melinian, Dave (played Jay Baruchel), who can help him protect the world by keeping Morganna Le Fey locked inside the magical Grimwald. Before he can help the hapless Dave complete the training, the Grimwald is stolen by his arch rival Horvatz (Alfred Molina) setting the stage for a good vs. evil showdown that should not be missed! A definite super time and I am definitely getting excited about the possibility of a sequel to The Sorcerer's Apprentice!
