We really enjoyed this movie. We have not laughed so hard in months. Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin were terrific, as always. It was nice to see Steve Martin do a serious role. And John Krasinski was an added bonus. Nancy Meyers proves that you can make good movies without special effects, vampires, car chases or violence.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

We should have left after 10 minutes. Suitable only for those under 25. I wouldn't bother renting it either. Wait until it comes out on cable.

Disappointing

I was expecting a rollicking good time, instead got a poor plot, too much obvious computer animation and an ending that borrowed too much from other Lucas/Spielberg movies. Haven't we seen that alien before?
Good to see Karen Allen again, though. She was the best part of the movie.
