I came out shocked, not elevated. The actual movie is not very good. The material - kids killing kids - is horrible. I know the real Roman Empire and Nazi Germany were worse, but to realize that these books and this movie are mass-culture makes me shiver, makes me believe that we live in terrible times again. Why, why this?
No, I do not recommend this movie.

We all loved it. Our kids are 6 and 9, but it was heavy in emotions for us parents as well. Characters are all very real, the kids play amazingly well in this movie. It is about real relationships and how a family recovers after a great loss.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Old men like Harrison Ford and Spielberg are having fun again in this movie. And Spielbergs never ending love affair with aliens. Anyway, enjoyed the movie and can recommend it.

My entire family is a big fan of the animation series and this is a complete disaster. Cheap, no characters, no stories, no depths, completely shallow - they should withdraw the movie and go back to the drawing board. A well-done movie can draw a big audience. This is so poorly done - you cannot recommend anybody to see it - it just takes the join out of it. Huge disappointment - I wonder why I don't hear the creators of the animation series screaming about how bad this movie is! Yes, withdraw now - this poor movie only damages the brand of "The last airbender"
