I expected excitement and action. This movie disappointed. The extremely long stretches of non-verbal communication and staring was annoying to say the least. It worked during the first 10 minutes of the movie, but after that it really lost its effect. Not sure if Ryan Gosling intended to milk the "mysterious, yet charming, yet dangerous" character this much. It went too far. This movie went from slow and boring with complete silence, to extreme violence and gore and back to slow boring and silence. Ron Perlman and the ladies were great, though.
The "balloon" eyeball...the gymnast accident.! Perhaps it was better with 3D effects, but the acting was horrible. I'm a fan of horror movies, but not his one.
