Is it just me, or does anybody else suspect this horse of being a serial killer. Taking out anyone who stands between him and his beloved owner. They all die. Just saying....
I like Simon Pegg, I really do. But the comic releif provided was common, predictable and a poor distraction for a weak script. I can see why Tom is spending alot of time doing promo's - the movie doesn't really hold up well by itself. --> wait for the DVD!
This is a grown up movie. I would think that some of the one star reviews came from young adults (or younger) that can't quite follow the ideas of reflection and regret. I would have given it 4 stars, but some of the one star reviews were from people who just can't pick which movies to see (HINT: go see action fiilms, you'll be better entertained) Theron portrays her character well. and the rest of the cast supports well
This is a fun movie to watch. There are some holes in the story, but that actually helps - you get to fill in the blanks. Good action, and a new young actress really pulls it off.
OK, this movie deserves 4 stars not 5. But I gave it the extra star for those parents of 4 year olds who take their little darlings to a PG movie with warning about rude humor and language, and then complain that the movie is inappropriate for 4 year olds because it has rude humor and language. This movie is not for little ones, but I certainly wouldn't put it into the adult humor and language catagory. I found it amusing, but a little boring. 10 - 15 year old - just right.
Remember Seabiscuit? Sure, Secretariat was a better horse, but the idea is the same. However, the scrren play is solid, great acting by Diane Lane and John Malkovich, and Glenn Scott for a little while plays the aging patriarch quite well.
Fantastic twisting, action packed film. It has a very intricate plot so pay attention, because every piece of the puzzle matters. The phenomenal cats pulls off each character beautifully. And the end is killer.
