If you're familiar with HBO family channel then you have seen stopmotion film with some of the children's programming. This is a familiar story told on a big screen. The 3D aspect was the gee whiz part of it, and was definitely an improvement over Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, but other than that, naw. Save your money. Definitely NOT for kids below 3rd grade. If your kid gets nightmares, avoid this one.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Dystopia with a Hollywood ending

Mounds of garbage, towers of refuse, and an earth that could no longer sustain life is the setting for this dystopian fairytale and romance.
We took my 7 year old and she liked the robot WALL-E but the EVE robot's blasting things at the start made her cry. And then when EVE shut down or was captured she was sad. She kept asking questions through most of it.
The movie is marketed to kids but is really better suited for an older crowd.
It fits in with Happy Feet and the global warming crowd, The animation was great, but the happy Hollywood ending made me cringe.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
