This movie is NOT FOR KIDS-CAN'T BELIEVE SOMEONE TOOK THEIR 10 1/2 (1/2 MAKES NO DIFFERENCE!) TO SEE IT -HEED THE "R" WARNING PEOPLE!!
Forget all the bad reviews, most of those people don't go see movies on a regular basis.
This movie is dark & not uplifting but interesting. I suspect the book is better, but that's true for most movies. It's a good plot twist, hooray to those who felt so intellectually superior to claim they figured it out in the first few minutes, I think they are all full of BS! I think most people didn't like it because they didn't see the end coming & still can't figure out what they just saw.
If you liked The Sixth Sense, go see this movie. If you didn't, stay home.
Not a good date movie unless you're at the beginning of your relationship & you'll do anything the other person wants to do. That being said, probably only girls/girlfriends will like this movie. Not for tweens or kids. A little long but at least all story lines were wrapped. Ok for a morning or afternoon but don't pay full price & don't waste a date on this movie.
I thought the movie was worth the extra for the Imax/3D. Even though it may have been a rehashed story it was told well & was entertaining. The time flew by. My 9yr old enjoyed the movie also.
No awards will be won but very action packed. No real recognizable people beyond Travolta. Wait for the DVD as there is no action/dramatic scenes that are worth the price of seeing in the theatre.
Although you already know how it will end up it was pretty funny the way they told the story. Liked all the modern jokes (the cell phone stuff). Supporting actors were just as funny. Go see it for a good fun time!
This was a fun movie. It's a movie people, either you are entertained or you're not but let's not look to the movies to always be so truthful......that's why they are MOVIES and for our ENTERTAINMENT. It tells a story...it's not real life so don't try to compare you & yours to anyone in this movie or any other for that matter.
Those of you who gave this movie a low rating & especially the person who gave it a low rating because it hit too close to home...., it's not YOUR life, it's a MOVIE, rate it as such & don't take these stories so seriously. This is not MYSPACE or FACEBOOK, it's for REVIEWING MOVIES.
It's a great chik flick or date movie. Go see it & have some fun for a few hours!
This was a good movie with really fun effects. Downey was the reason I went to see it & I was not disappointed. If you pay attention to the movie you will have no problem understanding a word anyone is saying. There were some funny moments that if you weren't really listening you would've missed. The only problem I had hearing stemmed from New Moon playing in the next room & no one shutting the door!
Took my 9 yr old & her 4 yr old friend, both absolutely loved this movie. Very entertaining for both children & adults. Finally a decent family movie for all ages! Go see it for the music & the beautiful animation then go home & plan your vacation to New Orleans. I can taste the gumbo now.....
If you are at all familiar with the story, then nothing should come as a shock in this movie. In this day & age of violence and special effects you shouldn't expect a movie such as this to not be frightening at times. Just because it says Disney that doesn't mean you should automatically take toddlers. If your child is scared of the dark, at all, don't take them to see this movie. If you like the story, go see this movie. It's worth the extra for the IMAX/3D effects. Took my 10yr old & she liked it although she jumped a little in the beginning.
Not for children under 10, they won't understand the subject or most of the words/phrases used. Smaller children will definitely be scared of the ghosts/images and the volume of the movie.
This movie was better than I had expected. Kept my interest the whole time. My 9yr old liked this movie as much as I did. Even though it was 2hrs+ I never looked to see what time it was. All gave great perormances. Nothing was over the top, all was believeable. Made me want to find out more.
