This was an excellent movie that stayed true to the book. I expect the cast will win the SAG award for Ensemble Cast, not to mention capture numerous Oscar nominations. The movie accurately depicts the 1960s lifestyles, traditions, and expected codes (not to mention laws) of behavior in southern states. It is a dramatic and moving, but realistic depiction of the Civil Rights era. All involved in this production deserve high praise for their hard work to create this movie experience.
A wonderful movie with funny characters and an excellent script. New characters added to ones from the first movie to keep it fresh. Hank Azaria almost "steals" the show... This is a great family movie, regardless of age! It was pure entertainment!
I took my Dad to see this movie, he really was not interested. However, within the first fifteen minutes he was grinning with appreciation. I thought it was well done and JJ Abrams adhered to Gene Roddenberry's vision. My Dad and I loved it and it is well worth seeing on the IMAX screen. I plan to see it again!
I took my Dad to see this movie as we both enjoyed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I truly enjoyed this movie more. The fight seens were well choreographed and much more believeable, less wires and more martial arts. The fantasy plot was fun, too. This is a good family movie with the exception of young children due to the violence.
