I had not read the book but most of my family had. Katniss was a great example of GIRLS understanding nature and working IN nature!
I found the movie easy to follow, the characters easy to figure out and relate to. The dialog was not garbled with barf flavored beans or spells or silly things like that. I would recommend it for family's with children 8 and up just because it was a bit long. Great movie over all!
