My kids loved it!

I had heard that part of the movie was scary and so was a little nervous, especially since we chose the 3D version. I took my 3 & 7 year old and neither one was ever scared ever during the movie. I made sure to laugh during anything I thought might be (typical mom) so they would think it was funny as well but I don't know if I would have needed to really.
The 3D was cool. It wasn't as dramatic as I expected but with such little kids that turned out to be a good thing.
Finally, my only disappointment was that the typical one liners that made adults laugh in the prior movies weren't present. Oh well. Still a great movie!
