Toy Story is one of our favorites of all time. However, this one was a bit off. There were so many "down" moments in the movie that it left me in tears instead of feeling good, like the other toy story movies. It seemed a bit traumatic in some scenes and I could hear small children in the theatre who were alarmed during one of the final scenes. (ending up in a garbage dump and almost being incinerated) I kept finding myself rooting all of the characters on, only to be totally shocked when the situation went from bad to worse. Ultimately they get out of their "jam" but it ends on kind of a sad note. Andy goes off to college and leaves all of the toys in the hands of a young friend. The only reason I am telling this is for the benefit of parents with really small kiddo's. I left the theatre in tears. It would have been nice to end all of this on a bit of a better note. (perhaps Andy's parents could have adopted a young child??? That would have been a good message) It was not at all what I expected. I won't be purchasing this one on dvd when it comes out, that is for sure.
