Excellent performances and fidelity to the book make this a standout movie. This is a powerful allegory about what happens when we consider some people less human than others. There is just enough deviation from the book to provide a high impact cinematic experience. The direction is moody with a slight tone of disorientation and discomfort as is fitting the theme.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Skip the American made fluff, go see a really fine movie. Micmacs is funny, poignant, charming, visually stunning and superbly acted. Underneath it all is a scathing indictment of the international arms trade.. A business bereft of a moral compass. You can see "Killers" on DVD, probably a week after it opens.
