Weak plot; superficial acting

As a big S&TC fan, I was extremely disappointed with this movie. First, let's talk fashion. Patricia Fields needs to be fired. She was cutting edge and is now just old and out of it. The outfits were ridiculous. I think it's incredibly insulting to dress in turbans and try to emulate a culture you know nothing about. The women looked gaudy and old (like Patricia Fields) and I was embarrassed to see them dressed as such. Second, the plot or lack thereof. Superficial acting. Although the writers said they were trying to be true to the characters and faithful audience, I couldn't relate to any of the characters. Too much gayness, too much wealth (how did Stanford afford such an elaborate wedding?), just too over the top for these times. I felt like it was all pushed in my face. The jokes were tired and predictable (e.g., Samatha swallowing all her I'm-a-crusty-menopause-drag-queen meds). As a 38 year old woman, I just coudn't relate to anything in this movie. Last, Aiden! Really? Carrie has been chasing Big for 12 years. Kissing Aiden. Really?! And let Mr. Big lay on the couch and watch TV. It's what married couples do! Save your money, girls. This movie is so not worth the $11 admission price.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
