As a HUGE SATC fan who has seen every episode and absolutely loved the first movie, I was excited to go see this opening night. It was a fun atmosphere, that's for sure. I had read many reviews prior and unfortunately knew the entire storyline. In the first movie, there were so many tangents and halarious one-liners that even knowing most of the story going in was not an issue. This time, there wasn't any "more" to the story. This movie was far too predictable and they made Samantha almost a cartoon-character of herself. And Miranda and Carrie are now practically boringly "normal"! Worst of all, Charlotte & Miranda's husbands had very minimal roles in this film which I think is a shame. Those men are are great characters to play off of. It was cool seeing so much more of Big and especially so much of him and Carrie together. I'm not saying I didn't like the movie....but I didn't love it. If you are a SATC fan then this film is a "must-see". There were some great moments...my favorite is the conversation between Miranda and Charlotte over cocktails in their hotel room. That was the one time that I (and the entire theatre) was really cracking up out loud. The rest of the movie was funny - but honestly, I could see most of the jokes coming. I miss the show - when I was shocked by the humor, not expecting it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
