Granted, this is not even remotely a candidate for top 10 comedies of the year, or even top 10 SNL movies ever. That being said, the humor in this movie is not so much from the jokes themselves or the depth of the characters, as much as from the cliche values of both. Will Forte clearly created MacGruber as a parody on SNL and this movie is simply an extension of that. If you like the skit, and you don't expect much more than 90 minutes of it - with a slight story line to loosely tie it all together - you should enjoy this movie. No, it won't make you think, and no you probably won't talk about this movie for years - or even weeks - to come, but this reviewer found it to be a pleasant diversion.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
