If you seriously think you are going to this movie for the plot, then this movie is not for you. It is about the beefcake, plain and simple. Oh, and the dancing! Channing has some moves! Shall I mention Joe? Hmmm, and Matthew bringing his usual self to the table. It's a fest for the eyes. Story? What story.... I kid. There is an okay story in there, but some of the casting lacked. Not the men, but the women. The ending was abrupt, and seemed like there could have been more. Ladies, get a bunch of you together for a girls night out and go have some fun, forgetting your stresses for a few hours.
This turned out to be even more of a surprise to my husband and I. Read the reviews that it was good, but you never know if you can trust the reviews. Yes it was gory and gross in spots, what do you expect there's zombies everywhere! Yet in the gore there was so much comedy you didn't even care. Woody Harrelson, he is my new action hero!!! The other three castmates also did a great job. Go see this one!
My husband, teen daughter (14) and her friend, son (7) and I went and saw this and it is a very good movie.
It is very sweet and touching in the beginning (I even found myself crying through it). We were laughing in the middle through the action and adventure the old man and young boy end up going through. And in the end I found myself crying again as you see a lonely old man and a young fatherless child connect and become deeply bonded.
Not once did my 7 year old need to use the bathroom and sat entranced with the movie, so wiggle factor was a zero with him. We all recommend you go and see this!
This is your classic case of girl meets boy, and boy wants to eat girl. Ok maybe not quite the classic story... If you are not familiar at all with the Twilight novels by Stephanie Meyer, I truly recommend you do read them, then you will be able to appreciate this movie so much more. The translation from novel to film went better than I expected. Other than a few change ups, it really stays true to the book. The casting is terrific and each actor captured the essence of the the character that they portrayed, from Jacobs innocence to Bella's surliness and Edwards pain trying to fight the urge to attack. This movie will leave you wanting more and to see it over and over! I can't wait for New Moon.
Do you want action? Suspense? Romance? Tragedy? This movie has it all. It sucks you in from the first frame and leaves you without words at the end. Tom Cruise portrayal of Col. von Stauffenberg was very convincing, you really did forget about his personal antics in the past and can see that he really is, first and foremost a fine actor of our generation. The casting was excellent and all the actors portrayed the characters very well. Knowing the story, we still couldn't help but hope they could pull off the assasination and coup. If you aren't familiar with this particular piece of history, it will make you realize that not all Germans were for the Hitler regime.
