Good popcorn movie...........

As superhero flicks go, this one's entirely acceptable. You know what you're in for with one of these, and you get in spades with Iron Man II. It benefits from a very good cast, some dialogue that's unusually rich for this genre, and a director who clearly has great affection for his actors. It helps if you're familiar with the full array of Marvel characters, since several of them turn up, obviously setting the scene for many sequels. You won't spend much time thinking about the plot, thin as it is, but no matter. The by-the-numbers action sequences are fast paced even if predictable. If you remember anything it'll be the actors, particularly Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke and the joyously sleazy Sam Rockwell. Basically, your typical summer blockbuster with a few unexpected treats.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
