At last! A well conceived Trek motion picture!

This movie is what all fans were hoping it would be. Despite concerns about how a prequel could possibly integrate into the Trek timeline, Abrams really impressed.
The characters aren’t imitations/caricatures of the original cast, but fresh and well portrayed. Chris Pine as young Kirk is so easy on the eyes and really holds your attention. Spock was expertly portrayed AND reprised. Nimoy does not disappoint.
Eric Bana's villain is weak if compared to Plummer and Montalban, but his diabolical plan is really what our heroes must defeat... and the battle is exciting and fun! All the more so, given that we get to see our heroes in a totally new way.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
