Direction, Lighting, Pace, Costumes, Sets are all top tier! All performances are excellent! I've seen a lot of period pieces in my time and find this movie to be one of the top. Don't get turned off by this being a history movie. You are drawn into each character and the hurdles that they have to overcome. Just an excellent cast and don't forget to get the score. The music was incredible!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The 3-D was typical and outstanding as the other 3-D projects that I have seen lately. Burton did an excellent job and had his signature all over the film. The cast was excellent and conveyed a solid story. A story that the trailers did not clearly outline. This was Alice's SECOND time down that hole. It wasn't Burton's take on the original version. Depp only grows with each role that he takes on.
1:49 minutes, followed by 22 minutes of upcoming 3-D movies. It was a bit over overkill. The movie should have been trimmed by 10-15 minutes. The story is simple and only has one "main message." Do what you think is right and don't get influenced by what other people think you should do. Go with your heart and you will make the right choice...in Wonderland.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie was shot intelligently, great editing, use of lighting, excellent period costumes, sets were excellent, and a solid pace. Del Toro and Hopkins were a great team. All supporting cast were chosen well. It was somewhat close to the original, but it had a nice diversion. I'll by it on DVD. I was a little disappointed in the physical transformation of the wolf. With all of the effects in place these days I was expecting more, however the end product - the wolf, was great and Del Torro worked the makup well. Solid, but it didn't knock me over.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
