This is one of the most boring movies I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot of movies. My two friends and I almost walked out around the middle of the film, but the 3D version was so expensive we decided to stay and give it a chance. It was extremely predictable and I find it hard to believe that it was based on anything "real"! Even the cinematography wasn't that great. You'd think they could do something great with a cave, river, climbing and such!
This is one of the most entertaining movies I've seen in a long time. Liam Neeson's character did everything I wanted him to do to get his daughter back. No weakness, no hesitation! A bit fantasy at times cause nothing ever goes the way we really want it to in life, but movies are for living out our fantasies. When it was over, everyone in the theatre applauded. That doesn't happen very often. It won't ever be nominated for anything cause it's not "drama about life at the bottom of the barrel" depressing. It's just pure indulgence!
I went to see Indiana Jones #4 yesterday afternoon. I was skeptical that it would be great, afterall Harrison Ford isn't as young as he use to be, but then neither am I. I thought of all the new characters, Shia LeBeouf's character was the best developed, although, unless I missed it, we never learn why he nicknames himself "Mudd" (of course, we don't learn the meaning of Indy's nickname until movie #3). There was little character developement and I even felt as though Harrison Ford and his own character just weren't really interested in what they were doing. The first part of the movie, to me, was boring. The "set up" was too long. I saw there was a possiblity of the Indiana Jones movies to continue with Shia Lebouf....I look forward to those.
