I thought this was a great start for the Hobbit trilogy. My only real con is that it does get a bit slow at times (especially during the first 2/3 or the movie). I think part 1 (An Unexpected Journey) could have easily fit within 2 hours (or even slightly less). However, the great scenery and backdrops keep you entertained during the slow parts :-) I'm ready for the next installment now :-)
