Not really what I expected. I guess it was to depressing if you didn't have a great high school experience.

Lots of action. Had some "seat jumping" surprise moments. As a movie standing on it's own (not a remake) it was just OK for me. But knowing it was a remake you kept looking for things from the original to be wowed by the new state of art effects. Just did not get wowed.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
