Fun for a weekend

Good fun, a few nods to Fantasia and Sword in the Stone, obvious product placement, excellent special effects, romance and fire.
Wasn't life changing, but my kiddo and I had lots of fun watching it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I admit that I didn't have expectations coming into this movie, and I think that really helped me enjoy what it had to offer.
I loved the characters, the effects, the message, the tension... The only thing that I thought jarred me out of the story for a tiny bit was the milling about battle. People were strolling through the fighting like they were taking a trip to the mall, I wondered at their nonchalance. But the special effects were magnificent, and the scenery was as well. The elemental theme made for some exciting creativity and I'd like to see what happens in the next one.
