Good for the kids, so-so for the adults

My 6 year old daughter got a kick out of it (sorry, it was just sitting there waiting to be said), but as a not-so-huge fan of Jack Black I was enjoying the air-conditioned theater more than I was the movie.
All the standard underdog-makes-good plotpoints are covered and there are some humorous moments but no real surprises.
The talents of Agenlina Jolie and Lisa Liu are completely wasted and were more cast for their name than their vocal abilities.
If it's a blistering hot day, and the power at the house is out, take your kids to go see it.
