As a serious film, this is the finest film I have ever seen. The acting was superb. Colin Firth has finally entered into his own. Geoffrey Rush was his equal. The supporting characters were, likewise, from the cream of British actors. It is my opinion that the kind of struggles and triumphs portrayed in the transformation of Helen Keller, for example, are played with greater subtlety and power in this film...an excellent, excellent, satisfying performance and film.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Best in the series...the actors have grown up with their characters; and as actors, they have expressed their roles as more than cute kids. They express the anguish and uncertainty they face in frightening evil as well as in their daily relationships as friends. I can hardly wait for part 2!!!
I have read all the books, seen all the movies...as in all series there are some stronger than others, but I have enjoyed them all. This rates on top!!!!!
