After watching Avatar in 3D my wife and I have been trying to watch more of our movies in the 3D formats. We saw Alice in Wonderland in "Disney Enhanced 3D" at the AMC located in Downtown Disney. It uses the standard (non-IMAX) technology but on a larger floor-to-ceiling screen. It isn't the "oh-my-god that <insert thing here> just jumped out at me, but instead gives a sense of depth enough that you feel like you are a part of the story.
The story was entertaining, and they did a good job of continuing the story from the first Alice in Wonderland movie. My wife said that it did a good job of pulling elements from both books (I was unaware that there was more than one). My only complaint is that the movie was shorter than I would have liked, but in no way did the story feel rushed or incomplete.
Overall, I would recommend this movie for anyone with children or who is a child at heart. Good story and good fun. Just be aware that the movie is more a sequel instead of a remake - I think Burton learned his lesson from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
