Looking to experience the warmth, charm, and wonderment of the Carroll book in glorious IMAX 3D? Avoid this butchered mis-adaptation. The abysmal, boring script (I dozed off twice) and lack of plot and character development contribute to a film virtually devoid of a story line, but which dwells instead on its strong visuals. Stealing from the far superior LOTR & Harry Potter series (some sets are almost identical to portions of those films), Burton's wreck achieves parity with neither. The 3D IS marvelous, and its imagery mostly masterful. Burton is best advised to make his next work a silent one rather than a brutal butchery of a classic so obviously beyond his limited capabilities. For kids 2 and younger, who can sleep through it.
