The backstory and plot attempted well to pull together references to Maggie Evans, the family werewolf (here not Quentin), Victoria's mysterious history, the townie bar, the cannery, and so on, and changes were made that evoked: "Well, that's not right!" There were glaring changes, that really transcended condensing all that material into a brief set of references, though: Roger was never such an inappropriate father, and Dr Hoffman's interest in Barnabas was never so salacious! Some pieces definitely went too far, in an attempt to update the material. All that said, the smiles and laughs the movie received were well-earned. Finally, the soundtrack was AMAZING!
