Flawed but worth seeing

Not a perfect pic, but has elements that make it worth seeing.
The 3D visuals and CGI animation were excellently done.They also did some fun things with relative sizes. Unfortunately, the Danny Elfman score was a distraction.
All good performances but especially Carter as the Red Queen. Depp was over the top, but he seems to be comfortable there.
I was uneasy having a certifibly insane man in his forties as love interest for a teen-ager, my 11 year old daughter didn't pick up on that. She loved that Alice fought her own battles.
It reminded me of the recent Sherlock Holmes film; not the book we read, still a fun film.
Thanks Mr Burton, for giving us a real heroine on the screen.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
