Fair but forgettable...

I went into this movie with low expectations because the trailer made it look like just another "fantasy epic" even with the epic battle at the end. Now when I went I was pleasantly surprised by how involved Johnny Depp as Hatter was but for the most part the characters seemed flat and uninteresting. Alice seemed bored throughout most of the movie instead of bewildered or scared or any other emotion. The movie failed to develop emotional connections between the character just seemed to be on "we've seen this story before auto pilot." Being a fan Tim Burton and of the Alice in Wonderland stories and various incarnations of movies and miniseries I wanted to like this movie a lot but found it not bad but forgettable.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
