If you liked the TV series and the first movie...

You will certainly enjoy this movie. At 2 1/2 hours it was a bit long but I enjoyed the movie nevertheless. I found the writing to be crisp and I found the storyline to be enjoyable. It makes for a great date night movie

Pierce Brosnan was the wrong choice as narrator. I admit that there were parts of the movie that dragged and I briefly dozed off.It wasn't just me..my wife and daughter also dozed and we all agreed it was due to the narration. Why couldn't they get Queen Latifah again? Or Morgan Freeman?
The undersea photography was spectacular, however. One of those cases where the trailer for the movie was more exciting than the movie itself

The first half of the movie is fairly incoherent and drags on. The second half of the movie is only slightly better You truly have to wait until the very end of the movie where an attempt is made to tie up the numerous loose ends that required explanation. The cult angle used in the story is stale and unimaginative. The same script could have been used for a "Wild Wild West" movie or an "Indiana Jones" movie which makes the choice to use it as a Sherlock Holmes movie even more ridiculous.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
