Renewed Faith in Tim Burton

After seeing Tim Burton's versions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd, I was worried I would also be disappointed with this film, but I was pleasantly surprised. His decision to create a new story that occurs after Alice has grown up instead of one of the original Lewis Carroll stories saved him from creating something that people would compare to every other Alice film out there and made it so he could take the story to a new direction and focus on previously unimportant characters (namely the Mad Hatter). I could have done without Johnny Depp's little dance, but otherwise the movie was very enjoyable.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
