As someone who has read Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass", I feel that this movie was the best adaptation of what Lewis Carroll wanted to portray if he had known his books would be made into movies! It is dark and yet not ominously so. Johnny Depp puts in his normal genius performance, but the standout in this feature could possibly be Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen. The actress portraying Alice also give a wonderful, boldly naive performance. I give this movie 5 stars and highly recommend this movie to all of my friends. Well worth the ticket purchase price...and in this economy, that is rare!!
