So/so retelling

Aside from the obvious bright spots of exceptional performances by Helena Bonham-Carter and Johnny Depp, the amazing score by Danny Elfman, and the much loved tale of Alice's adventures, I was actually quite disappointed. Mia Wasikowska's performance was like Alice on valium...very milk-toast. Anne Hathaway's White Queen seemed stale. Crispin Glover was not his usual "crazy" best. The visuals were "eh" for Imax.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
