The emphasis was too much placed on 3D filming techniques, rather than the story line which is what I've come to expect from Tim Burton. In fact, in this interpretation, the original story was given an uberdose of testosterone so as to force the young Alice into slaying the enemy— the jabberwocky, turning a charming classic into a violent video game experience.
Johnny Depp's bubble eyes were disturbing, and I love special effects, but not on Johnny's beautiful soulful eyes - please.
