Maybe seeing Avatar ruined it for me but I was really expecting so much more in the way of oddities and special effects. I had anticipated this movie coming out for several months now and so there was a tremendous build up and I vividly recall the story from my childhood so I couldn't help but compare.
So much was lost in this renditiion...twas a shame really. I was hoping for an epic film on par with Pink Floyd The Wall and Avatar. Burton had so much material to work with and he chose to ignore 70% of it....strange.
PS Johnny Depp was spectacular as usual - no suprise there.
