Wouldn't see it twice

I remembered how much I enjoyed the cartoon version and perhaps those memories led me to get my hopes up. This new 3D one hardly mentioned the talking flowers, it didn't even briefly depict the water scene with the talking oysters, she never walks into the rabbits house, in fact she doesn't seem to get lost at all. I found the this new version to be disappointing and difficult to follow. What was that scroll about? And why was the king dead? And why is the red queens head so big? Who is that guy that takes orders from the red queen? etc. It was visually appealing, but otherwise an unimpressive movie; I wouldn't pay to see it twice.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
