They did a very good job explaining the characters in this movie, something the original was terribly lacking. You felt like you knew why she was there and that the story had a purpose. The movie was also not as dark as I thought it would be given that it was a Tim Burton film. The 3-D effects added to the movie unlike most where it just is there to be 3-D. Overall it was a great movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
