The thing that I found so profoundly interesting and perplexing about this film was how Tim Burton (known for such fantastically dark masterpieces as Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas) was actually able to take what was a rather creepy movie in its original Disney incarnation, and drain the life out of it. It's not particularly dark or even imaginative. I thought, Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, OK here we go! But, please don't make the same mistake I did. Watch it once it comes out on DVD.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
