I agree that the effects made most of the movie. But i think that is part of Burton's specialty. It was an exciting and heroic venture, of the grown up Alice. I do wish Burton would have spent a little more time developing the characters. They were so animated but the explanation of why underland was taken over was just a bunch of fire and sadness not an explanation or back story at all. And although it was a Disney movie i feel It should have been PG-13. Parental support or not decapitation, and beastly violence could give little ones nightmares.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
