Excellent performances by Johnny Depp and Helena Bonjam Carter made up for the adequate efforts of the rest of the cast... aside from Anne Hathaway who just seemed very "off" as the White Queen. I would have given this movie 4 out of 5 stars if not for the halfhearted ending back in "reality" which was, in my opinion, more in the realm of high fantasy than anything Alice encountered down in Underland.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
