Tim Burton's personal style and vision make this movie a must see. The production value alone makes a trip worth the price of a ticket. The performance of Johnny Depp is hauntingly sweet. Anne Hathaway has a dreamy, ethereal quality and Mia Wasikowska is the perfect innocent turned warrior. Helena Bonham Carter is the queen you love to hate. The movie introduces you to a myriad of minor characters that are almost too adorable for words. Admittedly, having never read the book, many of these characters have probably been less invented and more adopted by Burton's genius.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
