Lives Up to All the Hype

All of my high expectations were met and I can't count the number of times that chills went down my spine while watching this movie. It is superbly cast, with Mia Wasikowska delivering a powerful performance and serving as a great role model for young female viewers by being strong and independent. Crispin Glover commands every scene he appears in as the dark, intimidating Knave. The Hare was my personal favorite, providing crazed comic relief. Visually, the experience is mind-blowing. Burton's attention to detail is more than admirable.The PG rating/Disney affiliation might've held this movie back from further greatness, as several frightening moments could've been pushed forward by more violence.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
