I never read the novels and I actually saw the first movie on DVD but then became a fan of the films after seeing the first movie. I have since seen all of them with my boyfriend. I think these movies mean a lot to the fans of Stephenie Meyer's work but they are also very entertaining for the rest of us who want to head to the movies and see something worth the $8 ticket. This movie is certainly that. Although character development wasn't high on the priority list in the screenplay (Im sure they were each developed well in the novel), the movie had a great way of focusing on Edward and Bella's story now that Bella has become a vampire without focusing entirely on them. The dialogue is always entertaining, cheesy, yes (what do you expect from a teen romance fantasy), but very funny nonetheless.
Great cinematography, well choreographed fight scenes, very "edge of your seat" battle scene and beautiful ending with Christina Perri's song commemorating their love story throughout the movies. Overall, I left with a smile. It definitely helped end the Saga on a high note.
Pros great actors, good ending, good twist
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I must admit, my boyfriend wanted me to go see this movie with him. Im very open minded to his preferance for action and martial arts films but this movie was awful.
No, it was gawd awful. I was actually impressed that RZA, after being in the music scene, transitioned to film and both wrote and directed this movie --but I was let down.
The art direction was good, the fight scenes held your attention but the first 45 minutes were agonizingly slow. So slow, I saw a couple leave (the theater barely had 20 people) and I would have joined them but I was upset we spent $20.
I turned to my boyfriend 45minutes into the movie and said Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu couldnt save this. At first the movie seemed deliberately cheesy and silly but towards the middle of the story line I couldnt tell if this was being serious or not.
I wouldnt even say wait until DVD. I dont even think its worth that. Im sure it was a stepping stone for RZA. The movie flowed fine, but the plot was terrible.
Pros nice cinematography, good actors
Cons terrible plot/storyline
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Disappointment

I was SO excited to see this movie with my boyfriend. We had seen the first two and absolutely enjoyed the quality and story line. They were very scary and both give you the thrill you're looking for. PA 2 is definitely my top scary movie favorite. Paranormal Activity 3 is another story. This move for lack of better words, was disappointing. Not only were the scenes (The ones I was very excited for) in the trailers completely removed from the movie but the plot was terrible. It in NO WAY tied back to the original two. It went off on a tangent that leaves you saying, "Ok...and the point is..." at the end. The only part that ties to the second movie is when they show footage from PA 2 when Kristi and her husband realize the tapes from Katie and Kristi's childhood are missing. That's it. They did not relate it back to relate to the demon in the first two movies.
I really was waiting for so much more. It seemed like the movie was building towards the climax except it didnt have a climax. The ending was very anticlimactic. An hour into the movie, I turned over to my boyfriend and said, "There's only 20 mins left babe, when is it going to get scary." Yeah...that bad. I was waiting for the 'jump out of your seat' effect the first two had, nope, never happened.
I really was looking for something more. A better script/story line, more thrilling moments. It gets old quick. Overall, Epic Fail - especially to the Paranormal Activity fans. What the movie SHOULD HAVE been about was when Katie and Kristi's great grandmother made a deal with the devil for wealth in exchange for a male heir. OR...the movie should have chronicled Katie and Hunter's whereabouts after the second film. Terrible choice to revert back to the children's childhood when really, there was no story there.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Great Story Line

Scorsese does a phenomenal job of creating a dark setting. DiCaprio's performance does not disappoint. It's nothing short of award winning- intense, passionate,& raw.Yet another incredibly convincing portrayal of his neurotic characters. As the plot progresses &the story unravels, it allows you to consider what reality may be & if it really is anything more than what our minds create. The storyline is very engaging, it'll keep your attention to the very end as you try to uncover what is truly happening at Ashecliffe. Don't pay attention to negative reviews, this movie is a must see!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
